Lisa E. Laravie, 66, of Centerville, passed away peacefully at Kettering Medical Center on Thursday, December 1, 2022. She was born December 9, 1955, in Miami, FL, to the late Frank Guihan and Marilyn Schaefer.
Lisa was a compassionate and caring wife, mother, grandma, aunt, and friend who devoted her life to caring for those around her. Her career within the healthcare industry spanned 40+ years and included decades of experience as a Critical Care nurse, Clinical Analyst, and project management lead. Her professional successes are a testimony to the person she was at her core: selfless, tenacious, and driven.
Lisa's passion for selfless care and bettering those around her was felt by everyone that knew her. She never hesitated to help, she never complained, and she took a genuine interest in leaving the world a better place. She put others first in a way only a mother can, and her resiliency was nothing short of inspiring. Her advice came from the heart, her joy was palpable, and her hugs lingered long after she let go.
Lisa was an avid reader and could usually be found with a book in her hand. Her favorite memories were spent boating at the lake, spending time with friends and family, cooking, traveling, and cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert "Jeff" Laravie; son, Robert "Tyler" Laravie, Ben (Shea) Laravie; grandchildren, Caiden and Kailee Laravie; and sister, Susie Greenwood.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kevin F. Laravie; siblings, Andrea Butler, Tim Guihan, and Jerry Guihan; and step-father, Joseph Schaefer.
Lisa was a lifelong animal lover (especially her Golden Retriever, Nemo) so in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to SICSA Pet Adoption Center (sicsa.org) in Lisa's name.
