Linda Catherine (Hancock) Shoop, 74, of Beavercreek Ohio died peacefully on Wednesday April 1, 2020 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on February 17, 1946, the daughter of Albert W. Hancock, Sr & Marian (Passwater) Hancock and has lived in Beavercreek OH since October 1993.
Linda grew up in Eldon, Iowa and graduated from Cardinal Community High School in 1964. She married her husband Marion (Dave) Shoop on June 22, 1967 at the Eldon United Methodist Church in Eldon Iowa.
Linda dedicated her life taking care of her family and thousands of small children across the United States through working at daycares and eventually establishing her own in-home daycare. Linda was a member of Eastern Stars, Aley United Methodist Church, and Fairwood Village Worship Chapel.
She is survived by a brother Bill of Ottumwa, Route 6 her husband of 53 years, Marion (Dave) Shoop of Beavercreek, Ohio; her two sons; David M. Shoop (Krista) of Beavercreek Ohio, Richard M. Shoop (Tamela) of Louisville, KY, and daughter Jodie L. Shoop (Tim Allen) of Lake Ridge, Virginia; Granddaughter Ashley, three Grandsons Gavin, Tyler, and Coby and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Richard and Michael, and her sister Patricia.
A private family service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home.
