Vandalia - Linda Sue (Burns) Newberry, 77. Her soul has flown Saturday, March 29th, 2025 at the Hospice of Dayton after a heroic battle with cancer.
She leaves her daughters, Kelly Nance, her husband Paul "Tim", Cheryl Kettlehake and her husband Tommy; her sons, Matt, his wife Kelly, John, and Charles, his wife Marisa; her grandchildren Chris Nance, his wife Dorrie, Dana Hunter, Tom Kettlehake, his wife Kayla, Mindy Chandler, her husband Billy, Conley Newberry, Brandi Newberry, and Trevyn Newberry; many great-grandchildren; and her brother Jerry Alcorn and his wife Charlene.
The way is lit for her by her husband Chuck, her parents Napoleon and Alma (Goforth) Burns; and her siblings Buddy and Sylvia.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, in the midst of the Great Depression, she developed a character as strong as the Appalachian Mountains from whence her people came. She spent most of her life in the Dayton, Ohio area working and raising a family. She worked as a shipping manager at Superior Abrasives. She is the epitome of the hard-working, God loving, family woman, and stands as a pillar of the ethic our nation is built on. She will be missed.
Family will receive friends Thursday, April 10th, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
