Linda K. Stokes
Age 67, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 24, 2012, at The Hospice of Dayton.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Sammy Cooper & Minnie Cooper-Montgomery; and by her step- father, Lee Montgomery.
Linda is survived by her husband of the past 43 years, Thomas Stokes; two children, Philip Stokes & his wife, Stephanie and Yvonne Wright & her husband, Robert; three grandchildren, Ashton Breanna, Christian Avery & Collin Alexander William; three siblings, Sam Cooper Jr & his wife, Beverly, Denise Beery & her husband, Mike and Nancy Newsom & her husband, Karl; two step-siblings, Maria DeCastro and Mark Montgomery; and by her extended family & many good friends.
Linda was a member of the Centerville Church of Christ for the past 42 years and was active with the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at the Centerville Church of Christ, 1411 Old Spring Valley Ct, Centerville, Ohio 45458. The family will also be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Phone: 937-433-7922. Pastor J. D. Cash will officiate. Interment will follow at Miami-Corwin Cemetery in Corwin, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Linda to The Hospice of Dayton.
