Linda Sue Jackson (Strine)

Linda Sue (Strine) Jackson of Huber Heights, beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on September 14. Born on August 3, 1947, to Betty and Donald Strine, Linda graduated from Belmont High School in 1965. She was a kind and generous spirit who was loved by many. In her younger years, Linda enjoyed bowling, golfing, darting and socializing with friends at Lanes and Fairways Athletic Club. She was known for hosting epic pool parties and holiday celebrations, often cooking way too much food so she could send everyone home with leftovers. Her love for Christmas decorations was rivaled only by her love for football, which was evidenced by the all-OSU ornament Christmas tree she kept up year-round, and her beloved dog, Who Dey, whom she named after her “Bengals.” She also will be remembered smiling behind the counter at The Dart Train, a business she and her husband, Gerry (J.J.), founded and owned for decades. She was a loyal subscriber of the Dayton Daily News, often clipping out articles and mailing them with hand-written letters to friends and family, which we are left to cherish.

Linda is survived by Gerry, brother, Bob Strine, sister, Donna (Rick) Sherick, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and dear friends, Jerry and Lana Takacs. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Until then, please throw some ice cubes into a glass of your favorite beverage and raise it for Linda and all the great memories!
