Linda Hodges

Linda Hodges, a beloved member of her community, passed away on December 1, 2024, in Dayton, Ohio. She was born on September 8, 1940, in Connersville, Indiana, where she developed a joyful spirit and a fun-loving personality that endeared her to many.

Linda's life was deeply intertwined with her husband, John Hodges, with whom she shared a remarkable 65 years of love and partnership. Together, they owned and operated Cactus John's for 45 years, a testament to their dedication and hard work. Their establishment became a cherished gathering place for friends and family, reflecting Linda's warmth and commitment to her community.

Educated at Connersville High School, Linda carried a zest for life into every endeavor. She was a passionate sports fan, proudly cheering for the Cleveland Browns and the Indiana Hoosiers. In addition to her love for sports, Linda enjoyed playing cards, a pastime that brought her joy and connected her with friends and family.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Hodges; her daughters, Diane Johnson (Chris) and Debbie Hodges (Johnny Tudor); her grandchildren, Steven Johnson and Kevin Johnson (Brittany); her great-grandchildren, Bryce and Dominic; her brother, David Meek (Fran); and her cherished nieces, Mindy, Tammy, and Sally. Linda also leaves behind a host of beloved friends who were touched by her kindness and spirited nature.

Linda's legacy will be honored through visitation on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424.  Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Her vivacious spirit and unyielding love for her family and friends will be remembered, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
