Linda L. Downs
June 29, 1938 — August 27, 2020
Mrs. Linda Downs, age 82 of Springboro, reunited with her beloved husband, Leroy on August 27, 2020, just six weeks after his passing on July 14, 2020. She was born on June 29, 1938 in Dayton, OH to the late Lowell E. and Irma (Brodbeck) Mesarvey. In addition to her husband and parents, Linda was preceded in death by sister, Audra Eloise Mesarvey Givens and brother, Lowell Elvin Mesarvey Jr "Moe".
Linda is survived by greatest joys of her life, her 2 sons', Mark (Kathy) Wantz and Mike (Lori) Wantz; daughter, Sherry Downs; grandchildren, Andrew (Erica) Downs, Lynzie (Collin) Taylor, Weston Wantz and Shawn Wantz; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Ann Mesarvey Wenzler and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends who were blessed to know her.
Linda graduated from Miamisburg High School, class of 1956. She was a hard worker and loved gardening, cooking and camping with the boys and her sister, Audra, on many different lakes and rivers in Kentucky. Linda was a tom boy as a child and always stood her ground. She was often found in the tomato patch with a salt shaker.
She met Leroy during her bartending days in the early 1970's. She was not overly impressed and expressed no interest in Leroy at the beginning. He eventually won her over and the rest is history. What they accomplished together building their Dream Lake Home on Put-in-Bay Island, gave everyone they knew wonderful memories because everyone was invited, I mean EVERYONE!
Linda and Leroy are back together again, this time for eternity.
A Celebration of Linda's Life will be held at 12:00 PM on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd. Dayton, 45459).
