Linda Louise Bourquin

March 31, 1941 — October 9, 2023

Linda Louise Bourquin Born March 31, 1941 in Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully in Beavercreek Ohio October 9, 2023. Linda attended St. Anthony Elementary and graduated from Wilbur Wright High School in 1959. She married the love of her life Joe Bourquin on June 20th 1963. Linda went on to raise four beautiful children.

Linda went back into the work force in the early eighties. She started her career as a lunch clerk at Eastmont School, and served at many other local schools spending most of her years at Webster Elementary School. She took great pride in serving breakfast and lunch to children every day for almost 30 years.

She retired in 2005 from Dayton Public Schools to become a caretaker to her Ill husband. Post retirement you could find Linda at Phillips Aquatic Club or Eastview Pool. She got great enjoyment sunbathing and swimming with her dear pool friends, especially Dee Routsong and Judy Boehmer who also didn't miss a day at the pool if the sun was out.

Linda also belonged to a group of special women who met monthly for almost 54 years to play card games. Her time spent with Donna Bourquin, Judy Boehmer, Ann McKinney, Penny Center and Ann Bourquin are wonderful memories she cherished.

Linda was a simple woman who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was happiest when her family was together celebrating a holiday, birthday or anniversary. Many celebrations were hosted by Linda and her family will have fond memories of those parties.

Linda had a great sense of humor and was known to have quick witty comebacks that her family will deeply miss.

Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her children; Liane McKnight (Kevin), Joseph Bourquin, Jennifer Bourquin and James Bourquin (Tammy). Grandchildren; Jessica Goodpasture (Tony), Tommy Bourquin (Layrn), Tara Boehmer (Sam), Cody Bourquin, Kyle Bourquin (Dakota) and great grandchildren; Devin, Bella, Laine and a special great grandchild that is on the way whom she was so thrilled to hopefully meet. Linda also leaves behind several siblings; Terry Napier (John), Tim Luehrs (Joyce), Christine Davidson (Jim), Kurt Luehrs (Teri) and several nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Clarence & Ada Luehrs, her loving husband Joe Bourquin, brother Jerome Luehrs, son in law Frank McKnight and her beloved cat Daisy Duke.

Special thanks to Joe Bourquin for having the time and patience to be there for mom while we were at work, you don't know how much that meant to us.
The family would like to thank Miami Valley Hospital for their care and compassion while Linda received care at their facility. The family asks anyone reading this to go visit a loved one whom you may not have seen recently, we firmly believe the long visits with her family gave her great peace when the fear of the unknown was palpable.

A visitation for Linda will take place on Tuesday October 17, 2023 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd Beavercreek, Ohio 45432.
