Linda Sue Arndts

May 15, 1947 — August 13, 2023

Linda Sue Arndts, age 76, of Dayton passed away on August 13, 2023. She was born in Dayton on May 15, 1947 to the late Lucian and Pearline Shockey. In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her siblings, Janet Richter, Tommy Shockey and David Shockey.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Ron; children, Michael Israel, Theresa (Mark) Diaz, Kim (Greg) Grove; grandchildren, Heather Grove, Julia Grove, Paul Dow, Abigail Hughes, Allison Hughes, Clayton Hughes, Preston Holland-Brock, Scott Israel, Tyler Diaz, Meagan Diaz; great-grandchildren, Landon Ordway, Mady Ordway; siblings, Cartis (MaryAnn) Shockey, Anna Marie Thompson, Carol Corbin and her beloved dog, Lola; along with many other family and friends.

Born May 15, 1947, in Dayton, Ohio, Linda Sue (Shockey) Arndts, made Dayton her lifelong home.

Her devotion to love others was evident early in life, as a loyal and dedicated wife, mother, sister, and friend.

It was not until she became a grandmother (Nana), that she displayed an immeasurable capacity to love. Her grand babies were her everything.

She worked hard throughout her life, but never allowed work to interfere with family life.

Where the simple things in life are often lost on many, Linda never allowed those little things to go unnoticed.

She loved an ice cold Coca-Cola with a piece of chocolate cake, while she took leisure time, watching NCIS, The Golden Girls, or one of her other favorite T.V. programs.

Her sense of humor was advanced beyond the average persons. Always quick with a wise-crack, or a joke, if you were talking with Linda, you'd better be on your toes.

Linda was passionate about many things. Aside from her family, dog Lola, and of course chocolate cake, she had an affinity for shoes.

Though she was sure about most things in life, she just wasn't too sure about which pair of shoes she would wear from day to day. So, she simply kept hundreds of pairs, just in case.

Before passing, Linda didn't mince words. She knew she was heading home to heaven and made it clear, she would live on forever in our hearts.

She was wise beyond measure.

May she rest in peace for eternity.
