Lillian May Gruza
Age 83, of Huber Heights, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2010, at Miami Valley Hospital.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Francis Anthony Gruza; and by her parents, Frank & Julia (Talos) Preiczer.
Lillian is survived by four children, James Anthony Gruza, Francis Edward (Sharon) Gruza, Dr. John Francis (Donna) Gruza and Jacqueline Ann Gruza; and by five grandchildren, Joseph, David, Sarah, Hannah and Lauren Gruza.
Lillian was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post # 9936 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post # 619 in Dayton.
While living in Coldwater, Michigan she was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where she was active with and past President of the 50 Plus Group and member of the Ave Maria Women's Guild.
During her time in South Bend, Indiana Lillian was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church and was past President of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post # 8748 and was active with the Ladybugs and the William Penn Organization # 132. She also modeled for Wyman's & Company and worked at Torrington Bearing Company.
Lillian made several trips to Europe and visited Lourdes in 1972 with her husband.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 1, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2268 South Smithville Road, Dayton.
The family would like to thank the doctors & nurses at Miami Valley Hospital and all of her care-givers, the late Naomi Rogers, Sheri Bohannon, Renda Spears, Karen Smith, Emily Collins, Nedra Lindsey, John Rogers, Dan Guildoo, Dawn Mount and many other friends.
