Lillian E. Floyd, age 78 of Dayton, was given her heavenly wings and went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 18, 2017 after a lengthy illness. Lillian was born in La Grange, Georgia on July 21, 1938, the third of five children, to Corris and Lena Truitt. She never met a stranger and she loved to sing. Lillian had been a member of Shiloh Baptist Church for many years and was also a part of the music ministry. She loved to travel and spend time with friends and family. Everyone who knew her, whether for years or just a short amount of time, loved her.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marian Brown, Agnes Rice and Dorothy Robinson; brother, James Truitt; and a 6 month old baby boy, Christopher Devon Floyd.
She is survived by her loving children: daughter, Robin (Michael) Simmons; sons, Bobby and Antony Floyd; granddaughter, Briyonna Floyd; grandson, Bobby Floyd; great grandson, Mason Floyd; father of her children, Robert Floyd; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11 am at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3801 Fairbanks Ave. with Rev. Ronald Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 9 am to 11 am and family will receive friends from 10 am until the time of service. Interment at Willow View Cemetery.
