Lewis R. Hopsecker, age 61 of Huber Heights, passed away November 4, 2018. He was born May 26, 1957 in Greenville, OH to the late Clarence and Doris (Gangwer) Hopsecker.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Linda Hopsecker; children, Brian (Manuela Emler) Hopsecker, Erika (Wes Whitmore) Whitmore Fields, Brittney (Joshua May) Hopsecker, Trevor (Katie) Hopsecker and Kaylee (Kenneth) King; grandchildren, Joana Christina, Jack, Alexia, Adriana, Domenic, Max, Luke, Tristen, Alexander, Isabella, Gabriella, Gabriel, Kennedy and Larkyn; mother-in-law, Phyllis Ochalek and numerous extended family and friends.
Lewis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1975-78. He just recently worked for Advanced Auto in Piqua, OH as a store manager. He gained numerous amounts of experience from working at Coke, Dollar General, Kroger and Meijer. Lewis loved watching football, especially his favorite teams, Bengals and Buckeyes. During his tenure with the Troy Jaycees he achieved the rank of Vice President with his slogan "Lew the Hopping Kangaroo".
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. where a service and military honors will begin at 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association and Diabetes Association, in Lewis' memory.
