Lester O. Scott, age 81, of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 24, 2015 surrounded by family at his residence.
Lester was born in Cookeville, Tennessee to the late Clay and Mary Scott. Lester served his country in the U.S. Army 9th Infantry from 1956 to 1958. He retired from Coca-Cola after more than 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene, as well as three infant brothers; sisters, Pauline Huddleston and Charlene Scott; nieces, Patsy and Sharon Scott, and nephew Mike Scott.
Lester is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathleen Scott; son, Jason (Kim) Scott; brother, Earl (Judy) Scott, as well as many other family and friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH 45432. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Dayton National Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Crossroads Hospice, as well as the Hospice of the Miami Valley for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association or the Greene County Council on Aging in Lester's memory.
