Lester Marbury, age 70, of Dayton, passed away July 30, 2020.
He was born December 4, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio to the late T.H. and Clara Bell (Hale) Marbury. Lester was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, class of 1969 where he played in the school band, "The Fabulous Originals". He went on to further his music career by playing in many local clubs as a lead guitarist. Lester worked at Good Samaritan Hospital for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward and Raymond. Lester leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Kelly Marbury; 3 grandsons, Devin Murphy, Darnell McGraw Jr., Jamal McGraw; 1 granddaughter, Bre'ana Murphy; 2 brothers, Willie T. Marbury Sr., Rickey Marbury; 3 sisters, Olivia Bean, Amanda Woods, and Deborah Foster, along with many other family and friends.
Lester was known for his gregarious personality and for being silly. He will be deeply missed.
A Walk Through Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 10:30 am until 11:30 am at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Graveside service will follow at 12:30 pm on Friday at West Memory Gardens, 6722 Hemple Road, Dayton, Ohio 45418.
