He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert, on January 12, 2009; beloved wife, Edna (Burkhart), on November 18, 2010; and brother, Thomas, on October 29, 2012. In 1959, Lester became a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene in Akron, OH. He served in various leadership positions over the years and faithfully volunteered for numerous projects around the church. Lester loved the ocean. After retirement from Goodyear Tire in Akron, he and Edna spent the winters in Myrtle Beach. They became faithful attendees at the Myrtle Beach Church of the Nazarene. As life became more difficult for Lester, he moved to Otterbein SeniorLife in Lebanon to be closer to family.
Lester loved his family and was a trustworthy, reliable, friendly, and generous man who never knew a stranger and would help anyone in need. He was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
