Age 71, of St. Paris, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Urbana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril J. & Marguerite (Murphy) Stegeman.
He is survived by his wife of the past 51 ½ years, Nancy (Hutchens) Stegeman; three children, Mark Anthony Stegeman, Pamela Sue Miller & Christopher Leroy Stegeman; three grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler & Dylan Bunch; four sisters, Marcia Hurst, Sharon Dempsey, Laura Cahall & Kathleen Folkerth; one brother, Jan Stegeman; in-laws, Wanda, Jimmy & Shirley; and by several nieces & nephews.
Leroy was a talented woodworker who created treasures that will be cherished by his family for years. For the past nine years he worked at Auto Zone in Urbana. The family would like to thank those who cared for Leroy during his illness.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m., Thursday with interment to follow at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens, Brookville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Leroy to the Champaign Cancer Society or to Champaign Hospice.
