ST. FELIX, LeRoy Charles
Age 92, of Centerville, passed away Friday, May 29 at Quaker Heights Care Community in Waynesville, OH. He was born January 25, 1917 in Dayton, OH to the late Harry Clarence and Mary Elizabeth St. Felix (Quinn). Roy was a WWII veteran and proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps. He was stationed in Europe from 1942-1945 and held a number of positions including P47 airplane mechanic and Intelligence Officer. He was a life-time member of the VFW Post #9927 and American Legion Post #598. Roy was a very loving and devoted husband and father. He married Anne Christine (Annechina Geesina) Flint in Detroit, MI in 1941 and they had three daughters. After Anne's death in 1956, Roy moved the family back to Dayton, OH. In 1960, he met and married Esther Inez Hauser (Hartman) and embraced her two young sons. They were married 36 years, until Esther's death in 1996. In 1977 at age 60, Roy retired from Rike's Department Store after 25 years as a furniture salesman. He and Esther spent much of their retirement traveling and vacationing with close friends. Roy was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, gardening, drawing, traveling, and dancing. Noted for his creativity and intelligence, Roy was always involved in creative and innovative projects. He was passionate about political and economic issues and monitored conditions daily. Although his body failed him over the years, his mind remained sharp and alert to the end. Survived by his three daughters, Donna Marie St. Felix, Gail Christine Moore (Ron), Carey Beth St. Felix, and two step sons, Richard Alan Hauser (Sandy), Barry Lee Hauser (Karen), five grandsons, four granddaughters, nine great-grandchildren, and dear friends, Clyde and Donna Marshall. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel (118 Woodland Ave., Dayton). Entombment will follow immediately after the service. The family will receive friends at the Mausoleum Chapel on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
