Leonore Herrmann

Leonore Herrmann, age 91 of Englewood, passed away suddenly on January 1, 2019. She was born in Germany in 1927. Leonore married Fritz Herrmann in 1950. The two shared 68 happy years together. After WWII, Fritz and Leonore immigrated to Mexico City, Mexico. They came to the United States in 1967 with their family. Leonore was a member of the Dayton Opera Chorus for 18 years and continued to support the local arts for many years. She loved to entertain and was an incredible hostess.

Leonore took great pride in her family. She loved to dote on her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild. Leonore was a caring, generous, and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Leonore was preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Martha Kurth.

Leonore leaves to cherish her memory, husband of 68 years, Fritz Herrmann; children, Brigitte (Steve) Caris, Ursula Herrmann, and Pete (Linda) Herrmann; grandchildren, Stephanie, Gabriel, Charme, Danielle, Candace, Pete, Caleb, and Sam; great-grandchildren, Jaycie, Chandler, Cash, Gracie, Hannah, Naomi, Sydnee, Jackson, and Ben; and one beautiful great-great-granddaughter, Olivia; and many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leonore's memory to the Opera Guild of Dayton.
