Leonard W. Deptula, 82, of Huber Heights, passed away on May 13, 2015.
He was born on August 1, 1932 to Leo and Carolyn (Janas) Deptula in Erie, PA.
Leonard served in the Air Force from 1950 -1954 during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a salesman in the building industry and was a member of the Homebuilders Association. He also volunteered as athletic director at St. Peter's Church. He was an accomplished Bowler and Youth Bowling Instructor. He also enjoyed activities with the grandchildren.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife, Joan, of 58 years; 2 sons, David (Cindy), James; daughter, Laurie; daughter in law, Lois; sister, Mary Jane Krysiak; 8 grandchildren, Mike, Christopher, Holly, Justin, Kyle, Benjamin, Karissa, Sadie; and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Leonard Deptula, Jr.; and sister, Audrey Dietz.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 18, 2015 from 5 pm until 7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 10:30 am at the St. Peter's Church, 6100 Chambersburg Road, Huber Heights, Ohio.
Burial will follow at the Woodland Cemetery in Dayton.
