Leon Salahuddin, age 76 of Huber Heights, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Grandview Hospital. He was born March 16, 1942 in Muncie, Indiana, the son of the late Fred Wright and Mary Clark.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Steven Clark.
Leon is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jacqueline; daughters, Carmelita Barber, Shanita Salahuddin (Shawn) Dunson; son, Leon R. Salahuddin; grandchildren, Antonio L. Wright, Raheem R. Salahuddin, QaNysha J. Barber, Zakiyyah S. Salahuddin; great grandchildren, Traceya J. Salahuddin, Phoenix S.R. Barber; sisters, Gloria Clark, Beverly, Clark, Janet Clark, Jackie (Curtis) Walker, Shirley Ann (Harold) Moore, Marilyn (Keith) Taylor; brothers, Ronald (Barbara) Wright, Gary (Aminia) Clark, Larry (Nancy) Wright, Fred Maalik; as well as many other relatives and special friends.
He attended and graduated Richmond High School in the Summer of 1960 in which he immediately enlisted in The United States Air Force and served 4 years. It was in that same year he would marry his beautiful wife. In 1991 he accepted the teachings of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad & The Nation of Islam where he dedicated his time & life to the service of his family & community. The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to all of the family and friends for the huge outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 3 pm to 5 pm at Newcomer South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439). A memorial service will begin at 5 pm.
