PINION, Leon, age 86, of Kodak, TN passed away on Sunday 11/01/2015 at Leconte Hospital Sevierville, TN.
Leon was born in John's Creek, Floyd County, KY on June 9, 1929, son of Lizzie (Setser) and Hents Pinion. He was employed at Gerstner & Sons Tool Box, NCR, and Allen-Williams Corp. He was a member of Kettering First Church of God and also a member of Alpha Lodge 729. He was a cabinet maker, built many houses and loved woodworking. He moved to Kodak, TN in June 2014 to be near his son.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dale Pinion. Leon is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Wilma Pinion; children, Douglas (Lisa) Pinion and Deborah Koerner; daughter-in-law, Melissa-Ann (Jerry) Longo; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, and many surviving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be Friday 11/06/15 from 5-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH. Funeral services will be held Saturday 11/07/15 at 10am at Kettering First Church of God, 1475 E. Dorothy Lane, Kettering, OH and he will be laid to rest at David's Cemetery, Kettering, OH immediately following. Please come in casual dress.
