He served his country proudly during World War II, by serving in the United States Navy. Leon retired from General Motors, after 35 years as a Machine Setter. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #6560 for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed collecting/repairing clocks, reading Detective novels, flea markets and fishing at Dale Hollow Lake. Leon was a very direct man, who loved to help others, but he expected everyone to earn their keep. He was the first to help those who were willing to help themselves. He took pride in earning and accomplishing everything he had on his own. Leon was a hard worker and passed that trait on his family. He also loved to cheer on his Cincinnati Reds. He will be dearly missed by his family and everyone who knew him.
Visitation will be held from 9:00am-10:00am, on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, where services will begin at 10:00am.
Donations may be made in his memory to your local Veterans Hospital.
