Lela Faye Gillespie

Gillespie, Lela Faye, age 84, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2010. Lela was born March 10, 1926 in Menifee County, Kentucky to the late Pritchard & Martha (Wells) Johnson.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth E. Gillespie; brothers: Clint, Kenneth, John & Ronnie; and sister: Josephine.

Lela is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Brenda (Carl) Cull & Linda Sue (Donald) Peters; granddaughter: Tracie (Bill) Scheiding; great grandchildren: Juniper & Toren Scheiding; sisters: Kathleen (Owen) Skeens & Phyllis Robinson; brother: Roger (Joanne) Johnson; sisters-in-law: Hildreth Johnson & Carolyn Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bob and Janet Wells, Wood Glen Nursing Home, Southview Hospital & Hospice of Dayton for all of their care.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 11, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., with Pastor Dan Moore officiating. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Wood Glen Nursing Home or Hospice of Dayton.
