Lee Allen Risley, age 80, of Kettering, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017.
Lee was born on June 25, 1936 in Huntington, WV to the late Marion & Lois Risley. Lee was just 11 when he met the love of his life, Gwynneth, in the fifth grade, but it took him another 11 years to marry her. After serving in the Army in Germany, Lee settled down in Kettering to teach German and History for 34 years, during which he touched the lives of thousands of young people.
Lee was preceded in death by his son, Jared Risley and his wife, Gwynneth. He is survived by his son, Nathan, daughter-in-law, Jian "Jane" Zhang, brother, Joe Risley, sister, Anne Jones, and granddaughter, Seda Sor.
Lee's life was filled with service and love; he is already sorely missed.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 2-4pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will follow at 4pm.
