Lee Clemel Jordan

Lee Clemel Jordan went home to be with the Lord on January 25, 2011 in Troy, Ohio at Upper Valley Medical Center. Lee was the first born on July 10, 1952 in Anguilla, Mississippi, to the union of Henry and the late Lula M. Jordan. He graduated from Nettie Lee Roth High School in 1970. He spent over 30 years in the trucking industry, employed by various companies including Duff Truck Lines, Ryder and Allied Auto Group. He also worked for a period of time at Clark State Community College training others to obtain their Commercial Drivers Licenses. At the time of his home-going, Lee was employed by Horizon Transportation, Inc. Lee united in holy matrimony with Abigail Pooe on July 26, 2003.

Lee accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was active in numerous ministries throughout his adult life. He later joined Spirit Life Church, where he and Abigail served as elders and served in various ministries. He loved and lived to the glory of God and was always willing to share his love of God with anyone willing to listen. Lee had a love for nature as evidenced by the numerous houseplants he maintained over the years as well as the aquarium he maintained in the home he shared with Abigail and Chabedi. He also had a love for automobiles and for all sorts of electronic gadgets.

The memory of Lee C. Jordan will be cherished by his loving and devoted family. Survivors include: his devoted wife of seven years, Abigail; four children: Jaimee of Springfield, Ohio, Jason (Angie) of Tampa, Florida, Thabo (Aleka) Pooe of Columbus, Ohio and Chabedi Pooe of Troy, Ohio; two grandchildren Moziah and Ngoza of Columbus, Ohio; goddaughter, Aniah Payne; father, Henry (Freda) Jordan of Dayton; two sisters: Dianne and Carolyn of Dayton; one nephew, Thomas Ellison, Jr. of Dayton; special friend, Ron Cockrell of California; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 pm on Monday, January 31, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Spirit Life Church, 8527 N County Road 25 A, Piqua, OH 45356, where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, January 31, 2011 and for one hour prior to the service, 10:00-11:00 am on Tuesday. Pastor Ken VanHoose officiating. Burial to follow at West Memory Gardens.
