Learia Bell Edwards, affectionately known as Leary Bell, was born on September 8, 1923 to James Bell and Essie Hayes. At an early age she moved to Dayton, OH where she resided until death. She was a graduate of Dunbar High School. Learia was united in holy matrimony to Alvin Edwards Jr. on April 15, 1978 who preceded her in death. She was the devoted mother of 1 daughter Karen Frezgi of Dayton, OH. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and husband. She went home to glory on May 16, 2011. She leaves to cherish her precious memories a loving and devoted daughter Karen Frezgi, 3 grandchildren Doug (Robin) Harrison of Montgomery, AL, Bryant Harrison of Las Vegas, NV and Aundreya Harrison of Huntersville, NC. 6 great grandchildren, Durrell and Domonique Harrison, Marxus Smith and Joel, Jared and Noah Harrison. 4 great great grandchildren, Azariah and Anaiah Harrison, Reohnna Hall and Marley Harrison and other relatives and friend including her dear friend and sister in Christ Laidell. She joined God's Lighthouse Community Church in 1955 where she served faithfully. For a short period of time she was a member of Valley Peace Baptist Church. She was a devoted member of both choirs. Her love of singing extended outside of her church home where she was a member of the Hallelujah Choir. Learia participated in various ministries over the years including president of the Youth Usher Board. She was the "Mother" of the church. She was a retiree of Shawn Acres Children Services. She worked several jobs after retiring including "Grandmother" for Head Start. Mom/Grandma loved and adored her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
