Master Sergeant Lawrence Carl Wells USAF Ret., 86 of Riverside, OH went to be with our Lord on Monday June 18, 2018. Born to Willard and Caldona Wells in Esserville, VA on January 31, 1932. Called Carl by most, Dad and Poppaw by those closest, Carl enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduating high school, then married Mabel Ann Bowman whom he loved until his passing 65 years later. A proud Christian, Carl and Mabel raised their family in many locations across the US while serving in the USAF with his final duty station at WPAFB in Dayton, OH where he and his family resided after retirement. Upon retirement from the Air Force after 22 years of proud service, he became a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service, a career he enjoyed for 20 years from which he also retired. Together, Carl and Mabel lovingly raised 5 children, Son; Michael Wells, Daughters; Cathy (Kenny Brewer), Sandy (David Burger), Jan Wells, Jennifer (Karl Sagowitz).
He is survived by his loving wife Mabel, their 5 Children, 8 Grandchildren; James, Shannon, Elisha, Josh, Mathew, Amanda, Chad and Evan. 13 Great-Grandchildren Lexee, Keith, Abigail, Daniel, Raven, Sarah, Gabriel, Ryan, Noah, Patty, Bethany, Xury, and Naomi and Siblings; Bonnie, Judy, Neil and Jerry.
Carl is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Siblings; James, Grace, Bruce, Kyle, Bond, Sue, Frank and Son in Law Kenny Brewer.
Carl was a kind and caring man and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.
A special thanks to all the Caregivers who provided such wonderful care and comfort to Carl.
Visitation and Memorial Service is to be held at the Dryden Road Pentecostal Church, 3201 Dryden Road Dayton, OH. 45449 on Tuesday 06/26/2018.
Visitation starts at 12:00 Noon with the Memorial Service beginning at 1:00PM.
Interment will be held at the Miami Valley Memory Gardens, 1639 East Lytle-Five Points Road, Centerville, OH. 45458 following the Memorial service.
