Lawrence Ray "Larry" Sparkman Sr.

Lawrence Ray "Larry" Sparkman Sr. aka "Shorty", age 73 of Dayton, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born January 15, 1947 in Pippa Passes, Ky the son of Irvin and Hazel Sparkman.
Larry was known for waxing the paint off his cars (detailing) and keeping his yard almost to perfection. He enjoyed the simple things in life, such as sitting on his front porch and drinking his coffee. He also enjoyed spending time with his dogs, children and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and Papaw who will be dearly missed.
Larry is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ellen; children, Corrine (Donnie) Hall, Teresa (Luke) Clemons, Melissa Guinter, Larry Sparkman Jr., Marti (Joey) Reid, Nicki (Randy) Shields & Lisa (Gary) Sparkman - Williams; grandchildren, Brian, Brandon, Crystal, Tyler, Ashley, Cody, Chelsea, Taylor, Austin, Courtney, Kaylee, Kalyn, Carson & Raelee; 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Ruby (Glen)Anderson, Racine (Stevie) Terry, Kay Ratliff, Corrine McIntosh, Betty Sparkman & Artie Sparkman; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Brandon Hall; granddaughter, Kearstin; and siblings, James Sparkman, Eugene Sparkman, Carl Sparkman & Marvin Sparkman.
Visitation will be November 23, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm.
