Lawrence Powell

POWELL, Lawerence age 75 of Dayton, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, October 20, 2005. Born in Morgan Co., TN, May 30, 1930 to George L. and Genevra Powell. He was a 60 year resident of Dayton and retired from Delco Moraine after 36 years of service. Lawerence was a hard worker, an avid hunter and fisherman, and a faithful member of Brantwood Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Viola Cagle. He is survived by Louise, his loving wife of 52 years, his son Larry Michael Powell and fiance Katherine of Casstown, OH, his daughter Kathryn Powell and fiance Charles of Fairborn, OH; granddaughter Ashlee and husband Nathan Hammond of West Carrollton; great grandson Boston Nash Lawerence Hammond; brothers and theirs wives Jess and Norma of Oakdale, TN, Henry and Polly of Harriman, TN, Otis and Janet of Dayton, OH, Everett and Lela of West Carrollton, OH, and George Jr. of Vandalia, OH; brother-in-law James Cagle of Ten Mile, TN; and a host of other relatives and friends residing in both TN and OH. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, October 24, 2005 at Brantwood Baptist Church Albrecht Ave. and Mentor Ave, Dayton, with Rev. Pete Fee officiating. Family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Sunday at Newcomer Funeral Home 4104 Needmore Road. Interment at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
