It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Lawrence (Larry) A. Jameson after a sudden and brief battle with cancer, on February 21, 2024, surrounded by the love & comfort of his family.
Larry, aged 71, left an everlasting imprint on the lives he touched. He was a dedicated family man, a seasoned military officer, and a successful strategy consultant.
He was born in Elkhart, Indiana on December 30, 1952, to the late George and Martha Jameson. He earned his BS in communications at University of Wisconsin - Steven's Point. It was during his college years that he found not only his academic passion, but also a life partner in Mary Jo (Fischer), whom he married on July 2, 1976.
Larry's military journey began in 1976, serving with the Army's esteemed 101st Airbourne Division in Fort Campbell, Ky. Larry's dedicated service spanned multiple leadership and staff positions, including four European tours and serving in Desert Storm. His commitment to duty took him to 47 countries culminating in the completion of his military career at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Lt. Colonel Jameson retired in February of 1998, concluding a distinguished 23-year tenure in service to his nation.
Post-retirement, Larry founded his own consulting firm, specializing in strategy execution and project management for both private sector and the government arena. He continued this endeavor passionately from 1998 until the present.
Beyond his professional life, Larry dedicated years of volunteering for the Wayne Booster Club and serving as President of the Huber Heights Athletic Foundation. Whether running concession stands at local games, or in the stands cheering fervently with MaryJo, Larry was an unwavering presence at his children's sporting events, never missing a beat. Larry loved family vacations to the beach, traveling with his wife, gardening, playing golf with his sons and son-in-law, and spending time in his Packer man cave.
Left to cherish his memory, his wife Mary Jo and their three children: Eric Jameson, Andy Jameson and Lisa Jameson- Riddle (John). His pride extended to his five grandchildren, Joseph, Codyn, Gweny, Lucy, and Myles. He loved following the grands' activities as enthusiastically as he did his own children's pursuits.
Larry will also be remembered by his sisters, Christine and Carole Jameson, 4 sisters-in-law, 4 brothers-in-law, nine nieces, four nephews, and a multitude of other relatives and friends. Larry will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton. The family invites friends and well-wishers to join in honoring Larry's memory, sharing stories, and finding solace in the collective reflection of a life well-lived.
