Lawrence G. Foster

Lawrence G. "Larry" Foster, age 55, of Dayton, lost his courageous brief battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 17, 2009. He was born in Lexington, KY on July 21, 1953 the son of Bill & Sarah (Woods) Foster. Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph & Elizabeth (Blythe) Woods and Patrick & Bernice (Vincent) Foster; one brother, Patrick Alan and one infant son, Lawrence Jr. Foster. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 14 years, Janet (Kline) Foster; two daughters Heather (Erin) Quillon and Amber (Paul) Webb; one son, Travis Foster; three step-daughters, Shannon Sturgill, Jodi (Jason) Fryman and Lindsey Pugh; twelve grandchildren; his parents, Bill & Sarah Foster; three brothers, Bill Jr. (Melissa) Foster, Harold (Robyn) Foster and Michael Foster; one aunt Janice (Seldon) Jackson; one uncle Terry Foster; childhood friends, Mike West and Guy Matheny and his devoted Chihuahua Tito. Larry was the co-owner of Stan the Donut Man and was previously employed by Holiday Inn of Dayton, Shear's Food Center and as a plumber for Roto Rooter. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 24, 2009 from 12:30-2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will begin at 2pm, with Pastor Terry Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (40 S Perry St Suite 120, Dayton, OH 45402). Larry was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. Larry will be missed for his natural wit and humor by all who knew and loved him.
