Lawrence D. Pyles

Pyles, Lawrence D., age 79, of West Alexandria, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 24, 2008. He was born December 28, 1928 in Nancy, KY, the son of Valantis K. & Sallie (Garner) Pyles. He served in the US Army and retired as a construction worker. He was a member of the American Legion Post 762. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis A. Pyles; and his brothers and sisters. Survivors include his children, Darrell (Judy) Gorman of Riverside, OH and David (Sharon) Gorman of New Lebanon, OH; 4 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH, with Pastor Mark Kirchhofer officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12 PM until the time of services.
