Lavis "Bill" Blair

BLAIR, Lavis "Bill" William, age 80 of West Carrollton, OH passed away June 30, 2013 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born in Harlan County, KY to the late Nora and Ottis Blair. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ruth Blair; grandson, Shane Blair; and sisters, Dorothy Bailey and his twin, Reba Mills; and brother, Carl Blair.

Bill is survived by his wife, Nellie Looper-Blair; children, Craig (Lisa) Blair, Melissa (Jimmy) Smith; step-children, Carolyn (Phil) Carpenter, Lowana Looper, Judy (Vernon) Coffey; grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany, Meghan (Chris), Mallory, Mason; great-grandchildren, Braylen and Anderson; step-grandchildren, Lisa, Stephanie, Candice, Tyler; step-great-grandchildren, Marina and Vincent; brother, Russell (Ann) Blair; sisters, Shirley (Jay) White, Geraldine Stanaford, Alma Suits, and Clara (Tommy) Williams; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Bill proudly served the United States in the U.S. Army. He retired from McCall's/Dayton Press and A.F. Leis after many years of dedicated service. He attended and was a member at North Dayton Baptist Church for many years. He would also join his wife, Nellie at their other church, First Dayton Freewill Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
