Laverna T. Nichols

Nichols, LaVerna T., age 90, of West Carrollton, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton. LaVerna was born August 26, 1919 to the late Elmer & Anna (Zimmer) Tobias. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Herbert A. Nichols; daughter-in-law: Connie Nichols; three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her son: Jack Nichols (Paula Gabbard); daughter and son-in-law: Debbie (Gary) Shockley; grandchildren: Jill Nichols, Jerrod (Eva) Nichols, Joseph (Dawn) Nichols, John Hall, Jason (Terri) Hall; great grandchildren: Scott, Emma, Abby & Grace Nichols, Brittany Hall; step grandchildren: David, Sheila, Matt & Nick Miller; step great granddaughter: Serenity Miller; sisters: Ruby Everding, Evelyn Miller; sister-in-law: Rita Tobias; special friends: Ann Valcich, Barbara McCarty, Jamie James & Jean Chapman; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. The family will be receiving friends from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 12, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering with a graveside service to follow at 11:30 A.M. at Valley View Memorial Gardens in Xenia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in memory of LaVerna.
