Laverna Hayes

Laverna Hayes, age 80 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born September 2, 1943, in Dwarf, Kentucky to the late Doc and Parlee Stacy. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of 54 years, Lindsey Hayes; siblings, Kenneth Stacy and Darlene Eversole.

Laverna is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Jeff) Greenup; two grandchildren, Nicholas (Rachel) Greenup and Stacey Greenup; two siblings, Regina (Charles) Spencer and Greg (Pamela) Stacy; and her sister-in-law, Ronnie Ward.  She is also survived by numerous family and friends.

She was a small business owner in Kettering for 30+ years. Her passion for cosmetology and creating long-lasting relationships with everyone who stepped within her shop was known by all, and will be carried on by those who knew her. When she wasn't working, you could find her crocheting, gardening or reading.  

At her request, private services will be held, and a celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date.  

Memorial contributions may be made in Laverna's memory to Hospice of Dayton.
