Lavern J. "Vern" Wagner
Age 84, passed away peacefully at his home, where he wished to be with the companionship of his cats, Shadow & Fuzzy.
He was born October 11, 1923 to the late Alfred Nicholas & Isabel Elizabeth (Rolfes) Wagner. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Sonya Hall Thiel; one son, Gary Richard; brother, Lester; sisters, Mary Ann Scheffer & Evelyn "Sis" Harlament.
Vern is survived by his two daughters, Gayle Besecker of Huber Heights & Karen Francis of Vandalia; one granddaughter, Kandee (Andy) Tinkham; and two great grandchildren, Allison & Drew Tinkham; numerous nephews & nieces.
Vern was employed by Wm. Brockman & Sons for 47 years. He served his country with the U. S. Army Company F, 263rd Infantry Regiment during WW II, where he was awarded a Bronze Star. Vern enjoyed working in his yard, the wildlife around him and his kind, wonderful neighbors who provided him with companionship, entertainment and closely watched over him. The family wishes to thank Hospice for their support and service.
Vern's cremated remains will be interred at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
