Laura May Badwey Shirdon
July 27, 1931 — December 4, 2021
Laura May Badwey Shirdon, age 90, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 4, 2021.
Laura was born in Altoona, PA on July 27, 1931 to the late Jacob & Afifi Badwey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard J. Shirdon (U.S. Army Veteran) and sister, Marjorie Bullock, of Beaver Falls, PA.
Laura is survived by her sister, Donna McKague, of Roseville, CA; daughter, Lori Shirdon, of Centerville, OH; son, Lorin "Jamey" (Diana) Shirdon and grandchildren, Dr. Lorin Shirdon II, Sarah Shirdon and Nicholas Shirdon, of Manvel, TX.
Laura graduated from Altoona H.S. in 1949, and attended Penn State University graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. She also graduated from Wright State University with a Bachelor's of Education. She was a reserve teacher for Dayton Public Schools. Laura loved traveling and during retirement was active in the Vandalia Senior Center. She cherished her Lebanese ancestry.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 2-4 pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH 45424.
