Laura A. Irwin

Laura Ann Irwin, age 54 of Bellbrook, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 at her home. She was born December 30, 1964 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Gary and Jo Ann (Kramer) Schommer.

In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Schommer.

She is survived by her daughters, Beth Schommer and Leslie Irwin; step children, Jennifer Race and John Irwin; sister, Amy Smyer; nephews, Matt, Steve, Alex and Eric; good friends and godparents to her daughters, Susan and Kenny Smith as well as other extended family members and friends.

Laura graduated from Fairmont West High School, Kettering in 1983. She attended Sinclair Community College where she studied psychology. Laura worked for Northrup, an aerospace company in Dayton, as a secretary for about five years. She dedicated a large part of her life to raising her children. Laura also enjoyed supplementing her income as an Avon representative. She enjoyed the arts, playing volleyball and attending Belmont United Methodist Church earlier in life.

Family will receive guests from 5:30-7:00 pm Friday, April 12, 2019 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm also of Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to CFIDS Association of America at P.O. Box 220398, Charlotte, NC 28222-0398.
