Larry Neal Williams, age 87 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Bethany Village. He was born August 30, 1936, in Van, West Virginia, the son of Hobart and Corna Williams.
After graduating from Van High School in 1955, Larry served in the US Army, stationed at Fort Wadsworth in Staten Island, New York, working in Air Defense. Larry was an E-4 specialist in Underground Communications and was Honorably Discharged in 1962. He later moved to Dayton, Ohio and was a driver for first Concord Foods and then Sysco, from which he retired. Larry was an avid sports fan and was especially fond of the Cincinnati Reds as well as his beloved West Virginia football. Larry was also a referee and was honored with a 25 Year Award from OHSAA for his service to baseball, football, and basketball. He adored his dog Crimson as well as his four grandchildren and was generous to all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jimmy Williams.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Kimberly D. (Sean) Johnson; son, Kris Williams; grandchildren, Lydia, Adam and Grant Johnson and Sebastian Williams and close friend, Frances Proctor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Dayton in Larry's honor.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). Larry will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 10:00 am.
