Larry Richard Verner

Larry Richard Verner born 9-23-1950 passed away on 8-29-2017.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edmund Verner, mother, Marie Cichaczewski, and brother, Tony Conatser. He graduated from Stebbins High School in 1968. Larry was a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force and Air Force Reserves. He worked at GM/Delco Products retiring in 1998 after 30 years. Along with his wife, Rose, Larry was a small business owner from 1999 to 2005 and developed a patented balloon holder (6458007). He was the Bellbrook Lions Club President in 2000, was a member for 25 plus years, and received the WR Dick Bryan award 2012 2013. Larry loved organizing Lions Club programs for girls basketball and girls softball. He enjoyed being a part of the coaching staff for Bellbrook Jr High, JV and Varsity softball. Larry continued his love for sports by watching his grandchildren play sports.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rose Verner; son, James Mann; daughter, Samantha Verner; daughter, Marge and husband, Terry Horvath; 4 grandchildren, Rachael & Jacob Mann, Mallory & Sonya Horvath; step-father, Henry Cichaczewski; sisters, Carolyn Zolman (James) and Trudy Shea (Peter); and sister-in-law, Carol Conatser.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Monday, September 4, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home 3940 Kettering Blvd., where funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 10:00am. Burial at Bellbrook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bellbrook Lions Club.
