Larry A. Simpson, age 59 of Kettering, passed away January 6, 2025. He was born on December 31, 1965 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Robert Sidney Loder and Donna (Coffman) Gallagher. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Jerry and Helen (Levy) Simpson.

He is survived by his wife, Carissa Simpson; son, Adam Simpson; sister, Lori (David) Loder-Laird; brother, Robert (Wendy) Loder; brother, Joe (Vanessa) Powell; brother, David (Kimberly) Swanson; nieces, Tara (Eric) Miller, Carson (Ryan) Nelson and Alexis Powell, Megan McAfee, Lillian McAfee, Allison McAfee, Hannah McAfee, Melissa Swanson and Nicole Swanson; nephews, Bryan (Santana) Sodders, Dylan (Kimberly) Laird, Joshua (Samantha) Gorski, Jacob Paugh, Kolbe McAfee, Kelso McAfee, Keegan McAfee, Will McAfee, Cody Rubinski and Andrew Olson; great-nieces, Lilee Gorski, Jayli Birt, Amya Sodders, MaKinley Sodders and Miriel McAfee; great-nephews, Trey Sodders, Caiden Sodders and Henry Nelson; mother-in-law, Rebecca (Joe) Sweitzer; sister-in-law, Cynthia Paugh; brothers-in-law, Kevin (Carolee) McAfee, Joe (Kayla) McAfee and Tony Heilman; adoptive brother, Martin Simpson; and numerous extended family and dear friends. 

Larry was a devoted husband of 34 years to Carissa, and was her main care giver for 30 of those years. Larry’s love for his family and faith was immeasurable. 

Larry was very active leader and teacher with the children’s ministries at Royal Rangers. He was also involved with Royal Family Kids Camp for inner city children. Larry was a member of FCF (Frontier Camping Fellowship) where they did reenactments of Revolutionary War up to pre-Civil War times. He was an active member for 25 years at Assembly of God. Larry was an avid sports fan and a huge Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fan. He worked for over 20 years with Marriott Hotel and involved with the hotel business for over 30 years. 

A memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Kettering Assembly of God.
