Larry D. Maxwell, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, in Huber Heights, Ohio. He was born on April 29, 1938, in Tennessee and lived a life filled with dedication, honor, and a profound love for his family.
Larry’s early years were marked by his graduation from Northridge High School in 1957. Following his education, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy, from which he later retired. After his time in the military, Larry found a fulfilling career as a manager at Waffle House, where he was known for his strong work ethic and warm demeanor.
One of Larry's passions was music; he had a special affinity for country music and even led his own band at one time. His love for the Cincinnati Reds was equally strong, and he was known for his vast knowledge of the team’s history and statistics, often engaging others in lively discussions about the sport.
Larry leaves behind his beloved wife, Heidi Maxwell; his son, Larry Maxwell Jr.; and his daughter, Becky Morse (Willie). He is also survived by his sister, Ann Sparks; his brother, Dan (Pat) Maxwell; daughter-in-law, Kimmie Donahoo; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his sons, Jimmy Maxwell and Tony Maxwell, as well as his parents, George and Imogene Maxwell. Their memories will forever hold a place in the hearts of those who knew him.
A graveside service honoring Larry will be held on January 17, 2025, at the Dayton National Cemetery, located at 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio. The service will begin at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry's memory may be made to the Humane Society of Great Dayton shelter, 1661 Nicholas Road in Dayton, Ohio.
