Larry Ray Jackson, age 74, of Dayton/Beavercreek, passed away on November 22, 2022, from complications of ALS. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on January 21, 1948, the son of the late Willie Noble and Vivian Genell Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Carol Ann Jackson; daughter, Christy Lynn Jackson; his grandson, Daniel Paul Szuch, Jr.; and brother, Kenneth Dale Jackson.
He is survived by his fiancee, Irene Mae Burgess; daughter, Karrie (Dan) Szuch; son, Keith Jackson; Irene's children, Annette (the late Lorenzo)Garcia and Craig (Christi) Burgess; grandchildren, Kora Faith and Jackson Daniel; Irene's grandchildren, Nicholas Craig and Jenna Rae Burgess; siblings, Brenda (the late Carroll) Scott, Debbie (the late Dick) Grieshop and Thomas (Rose Anne) Jackson; sisters-in-law, Carol Ann Greene Jackson and Norma Jean (the late Gerald) Elam; and many other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
As a child, Larry enjoyed spending his summers in Tennessee with his father's family. Larry was the Owner of Direct Jewelry Outlet in Beavercreek and formerly worked for General Motors. He was a member of the Moose Lodge. In his free time, he enjoyed metal detecting, panning for gold, horse racing, going to the Casino, playing poker, painting, writing books and spending time with his family.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am, on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made directly to the family.
