Larry J. Whitt, of Moraine, age 72 went HOME to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the 13th day of January 2016 after a lengthy illness.
Preceded in death by his father and mother, Earl & Alma Whitt; also his father and mother-in-law, Josh & Louise Keen (who loved him as a son). Also brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl & Ruby Shepherd, Milford Maxwell, Claude Keen and Arnold Compton; several nephews and a niece.
Survived by his loving and devoted wife, Shirley; daughter, Darla Shae and husband, Thomas Cade; grandson, Treven Whitt Cade (whom he loved dearly). Also survived by one brother, Richard Whitt of Hamilton, brothers and sisters-in-law, Scott & Margaret Keen, Clyde & Jeri Keen, Gay Maxwell, Nell Keen, Martha Compton, Alice & Jack Coomer, Linda & Bob Smith; multiple nieces and nephews; two very special cousins, Tommy Whitt and P.D. Honeycutt; friends like brothers, Carl & Loreida Fiffe, Pat & Joann Hickey, Joel & Debbie Cole, Kenny Young and Bob Hilton.
Larry served the Lord faithfully for 43 years. 23 years as a charter member and BELOVED PASTOR of Pathway Baptist Church of Huber Heights. Served as a Chaplin for Grandview Hospital for several years. Formerly employed at Dayton Tire & Rubber and Monarch Molders. All his church members were very special to him. He was proud to be their Pastor and served them faithfully even in sickness as long as he was able. Larry had many special friends in Moraine. Member of the CERT Team, an avid fisherman and licensed Ham radio operator (and made many friends on the radio).
Family will receive friends on Friday, January 15th, 2016 from 5-8 pm and funeral service will be on Saturday, January 16th, 2016 at 11am, with Pastors Darrell Messer & Henry Watts, all will be held at the Payne Recreation Center, Main Street, Moraine. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
