Larry Gambrell

GAMBRELL, Larry G., age 69 of Medway, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2016. He was born in Harlan, KY to the late George Gambrell, Sr. and Martha Griffey. Larry proudly and honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his service he went on to work and retire from the West Alexandria Police Department and Hewitt Soap Company. Larry loved sharing his hobbies and interests with his family and spending his free time with them. He was a caring and loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry (Leslie) Gambrell, Sr.; step-father, George Arthur Griffey; sister-in-law, Barbara Gambrell (married to George Gambrell, Jr.); and nephews, Larry Creech and Michael Gambrell.

Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory, sons, Christopher (Sonya) Gambrell and Darren (Heather) Gambrell; grandchildren, Tyler, Chloe, and Quintin; brothers, Carl (Dorothy) Gambrell and George Gambrell, Jr.; and close friends, Doryle Eakes and Danny Ray Creech; and many other loving relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel at 1:30pm. The family will greet friends and loved ones from one hour prior (12:30pm-1:30pm) Burial and Military Honors to follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
