Larry M. Fry, age 86, of New Carlisle, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 2nd, 2024. He was born on December 30th, 1937 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Levi & Eugenia Fry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Fry; his sister, Patty Chase; and his grandson, Seth Straley.
His memory will be cherished by his beloved wife, Lillian Fry; his children: Kathy (Doug) Straley and Michael James Fry; granddaughter, Hannah (Tyler) Withrow; great-grandchildren: Hunter & Joel.
Larry was very devout in his faith. He was a lifetime member of Good Shepherd Neighborhood Church, where he was the Lay Leader, and he was also involved with Bethel Churches United. Larry and his wife, Lillian, also represented their church at the West Ohio Conference.
He was very active in his community, where he was a member of the Optimists Club, Friends of New Carlisle Library and the Medway Historical Society. Larry also led and organized the local CROP Walk for Hunger each year.
He was an avid reader and owned the Page Cage Bookstore in Park Layne. He also loved theater, often seeing Broadway shows when visiting his son in New York. He often traveled to Kansas to visit his daughter and grandchildren. Larry was an avid sports fan, and his favorite teams to cheer were the Buckeyes, the Bengals and the Reds. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, seeing all that God created and will be deeply missed by many.
A visitation will be held from 3:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday, January 13th, 2024 at Good Shepherd Neighborhood Church, 1520 Styer Drive, New Carlisle, OH 45344. His funeral service will begin at 4:00pm, officiated by Pastor Harvey Hinshaw.
Larry will be laid to rest at Medway Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Larry's memory may be made to Good Shepherd Neighborhood Church or Hospice of Dayton.
