Larry Wayne "Brodie", age 74 of Dayton, Ohio passed away with his family by his side on October 31, 2024. He was born May 15, 1950 in Tennessee son of the late Edward and Martha (Hardin) Brodie.
Brodie was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Brodie was a free spirit, that loves cars and playing pool. From his early days, Brodie displayed an innate ability to connect with others, brightening lives with his infectious smile and kindheartedness. Brodies life was a testament of respect, laughter, love, and a good story well told. Throughout his life, Brodie wore many hats, but the one he cherished most was that of a devoted family man. Brodie will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sisters, Edna (Larry) Reid and Linda Brodie.
Brodie is survived by his children, Larry L. Brodie, Laquita Brodie, Lakeisha Brodie, Damian Brodie, Edward Brodie, and Adrian; grandchildren, Larreon Brodie, Laniya Brodie, Darion Cayson, Donta Cayson Jr., Demond Long, Dasia Brodie, Raymond Byrd, Rayven Byrd, Carlos Bennett, La'quan Bennett, Tracy Broadnax, Russell Brodie, and Monae Brodie; 5 great grandchildren; siblings, Ricky Mattison, Shawn Mattison, Barbara Palmer; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 12-1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will follow at 1p, at the Funeral Home.
