LaJoy Combs, born March 19, 1949, in Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, March 16th, 2025 at the Austin Trace Nursing Home. First and foremost, LaJoy would be happy to tell you that she was a born-again Christian, coming to know the Lord Jesus in 1970. Having spent 15 years in Buckhorn, Kentucky as a missionary wife, she was dearly loved and respected for her consecration to the Lord and devotion to her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Mary Tinch of West Carrollton, Ohio and grandparents, Charlie and Dora Ingram of Buckhorn, Kentucky. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Thomas J. Combs; one sister, Judy Kilburn (J.R.) of Germantown, Ohio; daughters Jamy Lynn Parworth (Guy) of New Lebanon, Ohio, Jill Anne Tolbert (Tim) of Carlisle, Ohio, and Jennifer Leanne Elleman (Dave) of Springfield, Ohio; grandchildren Brandon Parworth (Elizabeth) and Luke Parworth, Esther Tolbert, Levi Tolbert (Wyvonne), J. Daniel Tolbert, and Samuel Tolbert; six great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9 AM to 11 AM at Anchor Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday, March 22nd, followed by a celebration of life service at 11 AM with Pastor Combs officiating. Graveside and interment service will follow at Highland Cemetery in Miamisburg, Ohio.
