Lafayette Barry, Jr.
Age 83, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 18, 2007.
Lafayette is survived by his wife of the past 60 years, Freda M. (Fulks) Barry; three daughters, Carolyn (& husband, Dr. Stanley) Matthews, Deborah (& husband, Russell) Mathis and Kelly Barry; one son, Randy (& wife, Melody) Barry; nine grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
Lafayette was a member of the Northridge Wesleyan Church, a WW II veteran of the U. S. Army having fought with the Golden Acorns in the Battle of the Bulge. He received three battle stars as a result of his service. Lafayette retired as a Carpenter and was a 50-year member of the Local Carpenters Union # 104.
The family will be receiving friends from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m., Sunday at the Northridge Wesleyan Church, 1842 Neff Road, Dayton (Church phone # 275-7936). Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday at the church. Pastor Paul Garverick will officiate. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
