L. Carl Lay
Lay, L. Carl age 85 of Beavercreek passed away peacefully February 13, 2011 at Miami Valley Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years less 3 months, Kathryn nee Reese; sons, Jon C. Lay and Jason K. (Kimberly) Lay; 3 grandchildren, Adam, Megan, and Natalie. Surviving also aunt, Deloris Rains of Cincinnati and numerous cousins.
After high school graduation he enlisted in Army Air Corps flying many types of aircraft through WWII and Korea War. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1956 and taught math and physics in Lexington, Cincinnati, and Dayton area. He retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base after 28 years of service.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 17, 2011 from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – Beavercreek, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Spinning Road Baptist Church.
